Keep in mind that when all the Segway hype was mounting ("It") and finally it was released the iBot STILL wasn't approved as a medical device. iBot struggled for years to get its class III medical device certification, which hampered it's sales severely.

Dean is a brilliant person, but to this day I don't understand how he managed such hype for "It".

I guess Jobs and the other hypesters were investors. That makes sense.
