I don't know if I agree with the statement that they already know they are attractive. Sure, many do (and it's not like I know the mind of a woman) but I DO know the mind of at least one man, and while there is near-universal beauty, I have met MANY women whom I find beautiful (purely physically for the sake of this article) whom others would view as "meh."

And, on the flip side, I don't understand many of the so-called beauty standards we have.
