As someone who grew up more conservative than liberal, I saw Archie's flaws as a caricature of my own, causing me to question some of what I "knew."

TO this day, I love the show. Unlike you, however, I was equally fond of "The Jeffersons", though I confess it took me WAY too long to figure out that "Weezy" was "Louise"...
